A Utah Badlands Astro & Landscape Workshop Itinerary
~No Mans Land~
A four Night, Five Day adventure in the heart of the Colorado Plateau!
This area boasts some of the most incredible geological formations you'll ever see. Adorned with layers and layers of sedimentary shale in almost every color of the rainbow and is truly a sight to behold. Join Jessica Santos and myself for an epic workshop, exploring our favorite locations by day and by night! From martian like badlands to goblin like hoodoos, to mile high canyon tops, towering buttes, slot canyons, and arches. We will explore this vast and arid landscape in search of thought provoking and original images!
Where: This workshop will be based out of Hanksville, UT
When: June 20th-24th, 2022 (4 Nights)

Telling a story with your images
Creating Engaging and thought provoking compositions to enhance that story
Capturing the scene in a creative and imaginative way beyond a single exposure
Color theory and application
Capturing the stars, The Basics

This workshop includes Single Occupancy Lodging for 3 nights. Transportation, food and drink are not included.

•Evening Day 1: We will begin this trip on Monday, June 20th, at 4pm at our Lodging. From there you will check-in to your respective rooms and we will gather again for a briefing, chat a bit and strategize for the first evenings shooting. This crash course approach lets me gauge your varying skill and level of understanding of photography principals and fundamentals. We will capture sunset, blue hour, twilight and the Milky Way!
•Morning Day 2: The Following morning we will rise bright and early for that mornings sunrise location. Which could be decided that morning based on weather, clouds, conditions in general. After capturing Sunrise we will make our way back into town. Students are welcome to lag behind and explore until the classroom session.
•Classroom Session from 1-4pm
-Late Lunch/Early Dinner
•Evening Day 2: Reconvene at 5pm, Briefing, Head out for Sunset Location, again TBD.
•Day 3: Will follow the above Itinerary
•Day 4: Will repeat the above Itinerary
•Morning Day 5: The Final Sunrise, will follow the above Itinerary, followed by a group Breakfast!
