Mission

Join Blake Rudis and myself for 4 nights and 5 days in the "Switzerland of America"! The majestic San Juan Mountains tower over endless valleys of golden Aspens, and if we are lucky, we will even get a little snow to really make it special! From windy mountain roads to trees that seem like they're dancing, the beauty is endless.. Since 2016 I have been visiting and hosting workshops in the area and it never ceases to amaze! The sheer abundance of craggy peaks, aspens and cottonwoods leave you breathless.

This self drive workshop is based in the heart of the best of it. Situated perfectly in between Ouray and Telluride, Ridgway offers convenient dining and access to all of the views you could ever want! 

​

Where: This workshop will be based out of Ridgway, Colorado

When: September 28th - October 2nd, 2026

FAQ's

The daily itinerary includes sunrise and sunset field excursions and classroom based instructional sessions during the afternoons 2 of the 3 full days. All of Which will be screen recorded for your convenience. A more detailed itinerary will be given as we get closer to the workshop.

 

Meals are typically spent as a group, at least breakfast after our morning shoots and dinner after sunset, lunches are usually scattered. 

​

Roads are rocky but nothing aggressive. Inclement weather could make them muddy and slick, so a high clearance 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Ride sharing and car pooling is encouraged and we can help coordinate. 

​

The nearest regional airport is in Montrose, Colorado, followed by Durango. The nearest international airport is Denver, Colorado, followed by Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

​

A large rental home based in Ridgway, Coloradowill serve as our home and classroom for the duration of this workshop. Single occupancy rooms of course.
