This 4x4 adventure takes us into northern Arizona to the Kaibab Plateau. Where landscapes like you've never seen exist. Set within the Navajo and Hopi nations, we will be guided to several hidden gems in the desert and camping along the way. For 4 days and 4 nights we will convoy across no mans land to impossibly high overlooks incredible canyons, to wild geologic formations in the middle of nowhere.

Do you enjoy 4 wheeling? being out under the stars? Photographing those stars over epic desert landscapes? Then Join me next May for an amazing adventure here in my home of Moab, Utah which is only a 3 and a half hour drive away from the Nightscaper Conference and a dark sky city, home to 2 national parks, a state park and endless public lands making it the perfect place to host an astrophotography workshop ahead of the conference. This one comes with a twist! Although we will be lodging based, some of our shooting locations are off the beaten path and require a 4x4 vehicle like a jeep, or similar to reach. This will give us access to harder to reach locations away from the crowds with amazingly dark skies and unique photographic opportunities you dont see everyday! I will have a spacious airbnb rented for a maximum group size of 6.

For years I have returned time and time again to explore the Alabama Hills and I would argue that few have explored it as much as I and in 2026 were including the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest. Most only ever see the trees along the discovery loop near the visitors center but we go further. Miles further on a rough high clearance road to a grove of trees that few take the adventure to see. These 4,000 year old trees grow just across the Owens valley from the Alabama Hills atop the White mountains in California and I mean TOP of. The twisted and gnarled trees offer a plethora of compositions for your imagination to run wild and this area is as much of a photographers playground as the Hills. This self drive - 4 day adventure includes hotel lodging based in Lone Pine and Big Pine. 2 Days will focus on the Alabama Hills and the other 2 will focus on the Ancient Bristlecones. We will capture sunrises, sunsets and the stars at these wonderful locations
